OCC begins “Cycles of Discipleship”

October 31, 2008

The Board of Stewardship has planned a month-long emphasis on Christian discipleship for November.  It’s called “Cycles of Discipleship”, and is structured to help our church focus on the importance of our own discipleship as followers of Jesus Christ.  Some of the events planned include:

  • November 2 — Celebration Sunday & potluck luncheon
  • November 9 — Vision Sunday
  • November 16 — A Place for You Sunday & Ministry Fair
  • November 23 — Discipleship Sunday & Thanksgiving Worship

Please make every effort to be present in worship on these special Sundays.

30+ year members to be honored

October 17, 2008

A potluck luncheon will be held following worship on Sunday, November 2 to honor long-time members of our church.  Reservations are required and space is limited.  Main dish, rolls, beverage and dessert will be provided.  Please bring a side dish, vegetable or salad to share.

The luncheon is part of Celebration Sunday, the kickoff to our new Cycles of Discipleship program.  On that Sunday, we celebrate our rich heritage of faith in this community.

Reservations for the luncheon can be made online by contacting Kimberlee in the church office.

The luncheon is coordinated by Jeanene Kress and the Board of Stewardship.

Princess Luncheon has mission focus

October 17, 2008

Calling all Princesses and Queens!  Come join us for a special luncheon at OCC on Saturday, November 1 at 11 a.m. in Fellowship Hall.  Be pampered and treated like royalty!  Wear your favorite dress and enjoy lunch, story time and crafts.  Tickets are $5 and available through the church office and at Sunday’s coffee hour.

We ask that you bring a dress (gently used).  All dresses and proceeds will be donated to an inner city church so that other princesses can look beautiful for the holidays.

We also need help from some Kings and Queens to provide food and desserts.  Please call the church office if you can help in this manner, 440-235-3326.
